Student locked inside Brighton University is freed after mum tweets celebrities asking for their help


Her informed mum tweeted Jeremy Vine who helped to free the poor pupil from being trapped indoors and Jo Whiley.
A Brighton University student who was inadvertently locked in as she went to gather an essay was freed thanks to aid from celebs on Twitter .

She called her mum who did not believe her, but tweeted Jeremy Vine and radio DJs Jo Whiley for their help.

University staff and 21 eventually saw fortunately mum Gillian’s tweet -year old Emily was let out.


“They’d locked the doors and mustn’t have heard or seen me come in. I called my mum and she believed I was joking.”

While she found herself locked in she additionally tweeted an image of the interior of the building.

A Brighton University spokesman said: “As soon as our security staff were informed of the incident they attended and released the student.

“The building was being locked a little earlier than usual and we apologise for any distress this may have caused the student and her family.”
