Types of minimally invasive spine surgery performed at Laser Spine Institute
At Laser Spine Institute, they believe in educating patients about the entire patient experience–what to expect before, during and after the surgical procedure. Minimally invasive spine surgery
Minimally invasive spine surgery offers a safer and more effective alternative to traditional open neck or back surgery. Most of procedures require a less than 1-inch incision and avoid the tearing and cutting of surrounding muscles. For you, that means less recovery time* and minimal scarring. Our minimally invasive spine surgery is proven more effective than traditional, more invasive open neck and back surgery.
The procedure begins by inserting a series of dilating tubes into the area of your condition. Once the initial tube is in place, a series of tubes, increasing in size, is placed over the first tube. This process creates an opening to the spine without tearing the surrounding muscle tissue. Once the final tube is in place, all other tubes are removed. Through this final tube, the surgeon will insert the surgical instruments to remove the bone, ligament or tissue that is compressing the nerve and causing your chronic pain and symptoms.
